Setting Concept:
Near future, slight tech level increase but not completely Sci Fi yet.

The city will be modeled after something akin to New York City. This way there can be numerous nationalities involved and diversity among the characters.

Magic:
Different genres are akin to different elemental magic. Sub genres are less potent, but they gain the ability to work in multiple elements. Covers are usually far less effective than their original, but some virtuosos can transcend this.

Though music is magic, very rarely can people cause the effects naturally. Most commonly those that can utilize the music as magic are DJs with sound equipment. But DJs also act as conduits and can get a contained effect from their music while using headphones. However this will only effect them. Most DJs will be matched to a particular sub genre or genre.

Characters:
The main character will be a woman who is gifted as such that her voice alone can create effects. Meaning she can touch the magic of music without needing equipment.

Project Direction:
I will start by developing the story and characters. This will help set the exact tone I want. I will have to start crafting character profiles before I set the world's tone.

After I have established the story I will work on making story panels. With time I will hold a contest to look for an artist interested in taking the project to the next level. This level being a comic. Once the world is inked, the tone may shift depending on the style of the artist.

The next progression will be a flash animation. Where I can work in music. And if it goes that far I will get some voice actors to work with it too. However this would be quite some time off.
